Soccer Team Earns Exciting 5–4 Victory
What a way to begin the season! Our SJS soccer team earned an exciting 5–4 victory over Webster Middle School in a back-and-forth game filled with momentum changes and pressure-filled moments.
Grayson Dollar (Grade 8) led the attack with an impressive hat trick, while James Miranda (Grade 8) and Andrew Hachigian (Grade 7) each added a goal. Giorgios Sgouritsas (Grade 7) and Johnny Marcuccio (Grade 7) were outstanding in goal, making several important saves when the team needed them most.
The eighth-grade girls played tremendous defense, and Severyn Kuznecki (Grade 7) did an excellent job holding the defensive line and keeping everyone organized. We are also proud of the fifth-grade students who stepped onto the field and made valuable contributions.
A special thank-you goes to the fifth- and sixth-grade team members who came to support their teammates following their field trip, as well as the SJS alumni who attended the game and cheered on the Eagles.
When Webster pushed back, our players answered. When the game became close, they stayed together and continued to fight. The team demonstrated confidence, energy, determination, and heart—and gave us plenty to be proud of!
Congratulations to Coach Miranda and the entire team on an outstanding season opener!
