On Sunday, December 7, at the Advent Family Mass, Saint Joseph School proudly celebrated the annual installation ceremony for new members of the Children of Mary Sodality—a cherished faith-based organization open to girls in Grades 3–8 at Saint Joseph School.
The ceremony was led with poise and reverence by the Sodality’s student officers: President Ivonka Warnajtys, Vice President Evelyn Macko, Secretary Amelia Potem, and Treasurer Sophia Surowaniec. One of the most meaningful moments of the installation took place at the altar, as parents placed the symbolic robes on their daughters, a beautiful sign of the girls’ induction into the Sodality and their commitment to grow in faith and devotion.
Adding to the solemnity of the occasion, Rev. Richard Polek, Pastor and Headmaster of Saint Joseph School, blessed rosaries and Miraculous Medals. Then, he personally placed a medal on each newly installed member. At the same time, Betty Sabaj, President of the Holy Rosary Sodality, presented each new member with a blessed rosary affirming the Sodality’s call to live as young women of prayer, virtue, and Marian devotion.
In addition to their spiritual formation, the Children of Mary contribute to parish life through service. Members participate in First Friday Adoration, praying the rosary before the Blessed Sacrament and joining parishioners in singing the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. They also assist in organizing and preparing the parish Advent Angel Tree, reflecting their desire to serve others with generous hearts—especially during the holy season of Advent.
Sr. Mary Ann Papiez guides the Children of Mary, whose mentorship encourages the girls to deepen their relationship with Christ and to embrace a joyful spirit of discipleship.
Saint Joseph School is honored to support the Children of Mary Sodality, nurturing a vibrant community of faith, devotion, leadership, and service among our students. Congratulations to the newest members as they begin this special journey: third-grade students Maria Mazzone, Paulina Deptula, and Maggie Belanger, and fourth-grade students Nella Copeland, Olivia Guinto, and Joanna Thrun. May Our Blessed Mother guide and protect each of you as you grow in faith and continue to shine as young leaders in our school and parish community.
