Saint Joseph School – New Operational Expenses
Saint Joseph School Operational Expenses will increase starting 2019-20 academic year. A major contributor to the increase is the addition of the gymnasium maintenance costs. Some of these approximate costs are as follows:
- Liability/property insurance – $20,000/year
- Heating/cooling – $20,000/year
- Electricity – $10,000/year
- Janitorial Supplies – $5,000/year
- Custodial and other maintenance – Unknown
Other expenses will increase as well, including salaries, necessary facility and heating system updates, and technology maintenance.
FACTS PAYMENT PLAN ENROLLMENT FEE
FACTS Payment Plan Enrollment Fee depends on the frequency of a chosen payment plan.
- $20 fee for full and semi-annual plans
- $50 fee for all other plans
Originally, our school contract with FACTS called for all families to enroll in an Auto-pay. However, based on the feedback that some families prefer to receive monthly invoices and schedule payments at their convenience, the Finance Board requested that the Business Manager reach out to FACTS to allow for invoice billing. Please click the link on the bottom of the original email or contact Ewa Mamro to request this change because it must be completed by the Business Office. There will be a one time $25 fee, in addition to the FACTS Payment Plan Enrollment fee for this change. The FACTS fee applies to all families because FACTS will handle most aspects of tuition billing, invoicing, and collections.
In order to encourage families to enroll in auto-pay, the Finance Board approved a credit of up to $25. This credit will be posted manually.
If you have already submitted your auto-pay enrollment but would rather be enrolled in an invoiced plan, please contact Ewa Mamro. If you decide to continue with Auto-Pay, the credit will be posted in the near future.
Flexibility – Per the request of parents, a Bi-Weekly payment plan has been added so that auto-pay withdrawals can be scheduled twice in each month, half on the 1st and half on the 15th of a month.
More Flexibility and Control – The Business Manager has the flexibility to make changes to your auto-pay schedule within the system. For example, if your payment is scheduled on the 1st, but you find yourself in a position where you will not have enough funds on that day, you will need to email the Business Office, at least two business days prior (this authorization must be in writing.) The withdrawal will be postponed. As always, if you have any special circumstances, please reach out to the school administration.
FACTS Fee Processing – Even though you commit to paying the FACTS enrollment fee at the time you enroll in a payment plan, it will not be withdrawn from your account until after the Tuition Agreement is finalized, which may be a few days or weeks later. Once your agreement has been finalized you will get an email notification with details of your payment plan as well as a date when your FACTS enrollment fee will be withdrawn. (For the invoiced payment plans the FACTS Enrollment fee will be added to the first invoice).
Please note that this is not the school’s Re-Enrollment Fee, which you pay when you SUBMIT the Re-Enrollment Packet for your child(ren).

Saint Joseph School Fees – per student
Re-Enrollment Fee: $50 before March 31st, $100 thereafter
New Students Application Fee: $100
NEW Siblings enrolled before March 31st will get $50 credit. (FACTS could not set up a different application fee for the new siblings so the Finance Board approved the $50 credit).

Secure Transactions
Are Auto-Pay Transactions Secure?
This is is the most common question asked in the past few weeks. The answer is yes. According to FACTS FAQs, you have more privacy with automatic payments than by writing a check. Bank research has shown that as many as 10 people handle a check from the time it is written until the funds are finally deducted from your account. Most checks include your name, address, phone number, and other financial information which can be easily copied. With electronic payments, the transaction passes electronically from bank to bank. No one other than you and your financial institution has access to your account. When you set up automatic payments, you are solely authorizing an automatic payment.
Most private high-schools and colleges will require you to set-up an automatic payment plan. We suggest opening a separate checking account specifically for tuition payments. Therefore, you don’t need to give access to your regular checking account, but you must remember to deposit or transfer money into this account before payments are taken out.
